Fake Bake is a celeb favourite in the world of fake tan. We thought it would be helpful to give you some tips on how to apply Fake Bake Original Self Tanning Lotion or Fake Bake Self Tanning Mousse to get the best results.
Step 1 - Preparation
Preparation is the key to success! You should always use an exfoliator to remove flaking or dead skin cells, as this will help the tan last longer. When exfoliating pay particular attention to feet, knees and elbows. Immediately before applying Fake Bake, apply a small amount of moisturiser to dry heels, feet, knees and elbows.
Step 2 - Apply the Self Tan
Using gloves (provided with Fake Bake Lotion and Mousse), apply the product starting at your neck and working down in small, circular motions. Work down your torso, onto your legs, lightly glazing the product over your ankles. It's best to apply the fake tan to the front of your leg while your knee is bent. However when applying to the back of the leg, make sure the leg is straight. Apply the product at the bottom of your leg, working upwards in small, circular motions. When applying to your face, use a small amount and blend it all over your face. Take it into the hairline and blend around the ears, to join up to the Fake Bake around your neck. All the Fake Bake Lotion or Mousse to dry for 15 to 20 minutes, before you redress.
Step 3 - Maintaining your Tan
To prolong your Fake Bake tan, make sure you keep your skin well moisturised on a daily basis. 5 to 7 days after your tan, gently exfoliate your skin. Repeat this every 2 days thereafter to ensure your tan fades evenly and to prepare your skin for your next Fake Bake application.
The best tip is to apply your self tan before going to bed. This gives your tan time to develop overnight, allowing you to wash off the guide colour in the morning, ready to start the day with a golden tan.
