| Summer Colour Trends 2010 - Watercolour Eyes by Sara Hill |

To stay in trend this summer 2010, think baby pinks mixed with bright corals. Soft romantic hair, with wispy braids and perfectly light, golden skin. Colourful eyes are back, but with a new found sophistication. Gone is the neon 80's trend from winter and in its place are arrays of pastels and complexions which are fresh and flawless. Lips are big news this season and were all over the catwalk in shades of rapsberry, deep plum, baby pinks, bright pinks and tone reds. Think bold and matt, gone are the glosses we hung onto for so long. 2010 is about choosing one focus feature and colouring it up. So, if you're going to a bold lip, keep the rest of your make-up simple, beautiful and nude and the same goes for the eyes. If you choose to create the key watercolour trend for eyes, keep your lips and make up nude and fresh.
Here is my simple step by step guide to create Watercolour Eyes for summer trend 2010:
Step 1 Apply a small amount of foundation all over the eyelids, up to brow bone and set with loose, translucent powder. This will give you a perfect base for your eyeshadow to sit on.
Step 2 Create Watercolour Eyes by first placing three different colours together, like soft golds, shimmering pinks and deep, dusky purples. Each colour should be placed on the lid, sitting side by side. When deciding on the right colours for you, there are many things to think about. If you want a bold, dramatic look, then pick colours that are an opposite from your own eye colour. For example, if you have blue eyes, try yellows, soft pinks and greens, which will make your eyes pop. If you have brown eyes, try purples, bright pinks and blues, which will make your eyes sparkle. If in doubt, soft, neutral tones like soft browns and coppers will suit all.
Step 3 Gently blend the edge of the colours together with a soft eye blender brush. This will create a painted, shimmering, watercolour effect, to enhance your natural eye colour.
Step 4 Apply light layers of Lancome Hypnose Mascara and a small amount of Rimmel Soft Kohl Kajal Eyeliner Pencil, to give soft definition around the lash line.
