At long last the summer sun has arrived and its time to bare our pasty bodies to the world! Again, I'll be sharing my celebrity secrets and top tips to create the all-new, sun-kissed, summer you. With a host of catwalk inspired pretty shades, natural glowing skin and bursts of colour, 2010 summer has something that will inspire everyone. Summer Tip 1 - Foundation Whatever foundation you wear, make sure its light and natural this season. Skin should look like skin, so strip away your mask and opt for something more sheer and sun-kissed. Stila tinted moisturizers are perfect for this. If you prefer more coverage, my top tip is to mix your existing daily foundation, such as Max Factor Lasting Performance Foundation which is touch-resistant and lasts all day long, with your existing face moisturiser cream. I use Chanel Hydramax, this will instantly create a sheerer look to your foundation base, whilst still giving you the coverage you need. Another top tip is to mix a small amount of Clarins Beauty Flash Balm into your foundation, it will give an amazing radiant glow, perfect for a night out. Its also great for a more mature skin, to create a youthful lift.
Summer Tip 2 - Bronzer Bronzer can look orange or patchy, this is because it is either the wrong colour, or has been applied incorrectly. Always buy a bronzer close to the colour of suntan you would normally go. For pale to medium skin tones, like actress Jennifer Aniston, go for Elizabeth Arden Sun Goddess Bronzer, which will enhance your complexion with a subtle summer glow. For darker skin tones, like actress/singer Jennifer Lopez, try St Tropez Matte Powder Bronzer. This builds up to deeper shades, creating a beautiful natural beach bronzed look. A good application tip is to always apply a little translucent powder first to the skin, before applying powder bronzer. This will stop the dark pigments from the bronzing powder from sticking to your skin and looking patchy. Also invest in a decent bronzer brush. It should look and feel like your own hair, so if matted and the hairs are falling out - bin it!
Lastly to create a beautiful, summer skin its important to add a bit of colour to the cheeks as this will make your tan more realistic and less tangoed! Try Bourjois Cream Blush Shade 81 Delice D'Or. It has a rich, creamy texture and gives a luminous glow, taking away that un-natural powdery look. Apply with your fingers to the apples of your cheeks. |
